AGRICULTURE IN NAGORNO KARABAKH REPUBLIC IN 2009

In 2009, the gross output of agriculture at factual prices formed
30656.9 mln drams, increasing by 1.1 percent the index of comparative
prices of the last year.
In the structure of gross output of agriculture in 2009 the gross
output of plant growing formed 63.8 percent, and cattle breeding -
36.2 percent. In comparison with 2008 the specific gravity of cattle
breeding branch in the structure of agricultural gross output has
increased by 4.2 percent.
In 2009, per 1 hectare of cultivated land types (arable lands and
areas of perennial plants) the gross output of plant growing formed
of 338.4 thousand drams, which is less by 28.2 percent in comparison
with the index of the previous year.
During the accounting period within the structure of agricultural
production gross output the prevailing share belongs to grain
growing - 26.7 percent, milk production - 18.9 percent and meat
- 11.8 percent. From the point of view of the structure of total
arable lands 95.7 percent forms grain and cereals (maize including)
of cultivated plants' areas, and only wheat areas forms 81.4 percent
of total arable areas.
In 2009, harvesting of agricultural cultivated plants was carried out
from 54122.9 hectares: grain and cereals (maize including)- 54665.4
hectares, potato- 1115.7 hectares, vegetables -906.7 hectares,
melonfields - 349.3 hectares, crops used as fodder-62.7 hectares,
and technical crops-23.0 hectares.
By January 1, 2010, the quantity of cattle in the Republic formed
99.2 percent (43538 heads): cows 94.3 percent, pigs - 211.5 percent
(10736 heads), small cattle -114.1 percent, poultry-99.2 percent
(364409 wings).
In comparison with the previous year meat production in the Republic
has increased by 21.0 percent forming 4993.7 tones (live weight),
milk production correspondingly by 3.1 percent and 32373.1 tones,
eggs-12.0 percent For more detailed statistic information about
