Caucasus Institute Director and political scientist Alexander
Iskandaryan says the statement by the ruling parliamentary coalition
over the ratification of the Armenia-Turkey Protocols is a clear
message addressed to Ankara that Yerevan will not take an action for
the ratification unless the Turkish side does so.
"These are, in fact, a talks about suspending the [ratification]
process unless the Turks take clear-cut initiatives [for the
ratification]," Iskandaryan told Tert.am, adding that the Armenian
side should wait until President Serzh Sargsyan delivers an address
later today in which he is expected to elaborate on the decision
reached over the Protocols.
Alexander Iskandaryan also said he considered the coalition
statement as a message sent not only to Turkey but also to the whole
international community.
