On the 18th of April, 2010, by the order of the RA Minister of Defence
the soldiers of the National Army did cleaning and improvement work
of the monuments and other historical places around Armenia, devoted
to the International Day for Preserving Monuments and Sites. This
cleaning and improvement work was also aimed at introducing the
solders to the historical-cultural values of Armenia.
In the morning of 18 April, in order to watch the cleaning and
improvement work by the soldiers, the RA Minister of Defence Seyran
Ohanyan visited the area around the Statue of Vardan Mamikonyan in
"Circular Park" of Yerevan. Here the students of the RA MoD Military
Aviation institute after Marshal Armenak Khanperyants worked with
zeal and pride. They followed the principle that architectural
monuments ought to be preserved with care and be passed to the coming
generations.
