PROCESSION FOR GENOCIDE RECOGNITION

The activists of the youth union "Miasin" organized a procession today
to the embassies of Italy, France, Russia and the USA in Armenia. The
participants of the procession had posters in their hands. On the
posters were written the following slogans "Recognize" and "Justice".
As the General Coordinator of Miasin youth movement Gevorg Vardanyan
informed that letters have been sent to acting 26 embassies of which 9
are the embassies of the countries which have recognized the Armenian
Genocide and have accused it.
"Those countries which still haven't recognized the Genocide we call
on accepting a just decision," G. Vardanyan informed.
He also mentioned that the Italian, French and Russian embassies
will receive letters of gratitude after which the procession will
continue to the U.S. embassy of which they will demand to recognize
the historical truth.
Officially the Armenian genocide was accepted and accused by Uruguay
in 1965. The Armenian Genocide has been recognized also by the Council
of Europe, European Parliament, the Subcommittee on the Prevention
of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities in the UNO, the United
Nations War Crimes Commission, the World Council of Churches. France,
Germany, Italia, Belgium, Sweden, Netherlands, Switzerland, Russia,
Poland, Slovakia, Republic of Cyprus, Lebanon, Uruguay, Argentina,
Venezuela, Chile, Canada, Vatican, Australia and 44 states of the
USA recognized the annihilation of the Armenian nation as Genocide.
