"Yesterday's address by President Serzh Sargsyan was a signal to
the international community that Armenia stands for establishment of
relations with Turkey without preconditions. However, the same cannot
be said about the neighbour country," Spokesman for the Republican
Party of Armenia Edward Sharmazanov told a press conference today.
According to him, the reactions from the United States and France
prove that Armenia's position is stronger today.
"President Sargsyan confirmed Armenia's commitment to normalize
relations without preconditions, announcing suspension, but not
termination of the ratification process. Armenia didn't withdraw its
signature from Protocols," Sharmazanov said.
As to Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process, he said that
the NKR status remains the core issue in talks. "Armenia will not
make unilateral concessions. Artsakh can't be part of Azerbaijan,"
Sharmazanov said.
