ArmInfo. This year we are commemorating the 95th anniversary of the
Armenian Genocide. The past 95 years were years of sorrow for those
killed in the Genocide, pain caused by its denial and struggle for
prevention - prevention of genocides of all kinds everywhere, President
of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview to RIA Novosti.
"This is the duty of a small country whose people went through
the horrors of the most heinous crime against humanity and we will
continue to perform this duty irrespective of political situations
and all possible difficulties."
"We refuse to accept the argument that the dialogue between Armenia
and Turkey can justify the refusal to recognize the Armenian Genocide."
"I don't think that this is helpful to progress. I would like to urge
all those who will have an occasion to reflect or speak on the Armenian
Genocide: before saying something remember the millions of destroyed
human lives and the ancient nation that has lost its homeland and is
bearing this pain inside its heart," Sargsyan said.
