Ankara. Mayis Alizadeh -APA. "Armenia tries to oppress Turkey with
its unilateral decisions instead of making steps towards peace in the
region. This is very wrong way because no one can press upon Turkey.
If Armenia withdraws its troops from the occupied lands and chooses way
of friendship with Turkey and Azerbaijan, it will save its future",
chairman of the Turkish parliament's NATO Group and MP from the
Justice and Development Party (AKP) Vahid Erdem told APA Turkish
bureau. He said last decision of the Armenia's coalition government
proved that Turkey was right. "First condition for peace and stability
in the region is the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from the Armenian
occupation. While Turkey is demanding that, Armenia chose the way of
"freezing" the protocols instead of meeting this fair demand".
Answering the question "The situation requires closer cooperation
between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Do you think to visit Baku with
this aim?" Erdem said: "I am natural friend of Azerbaijan, but not
on papers. I have not received invitation from Azerbaijan yet. If
I receive it, I will go to Baku to do my best. I talked with the
Azerbaijani journalists in Turkish at a press conference at the
Azerbaijani parliament after the NATO PA meeting in Baku and it
confused some Western parliamentarians".
