Armen Ashotyan: `Building a strong state system, a strong society,
army and economy is the best way to pay the crime back'
YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS: `Every Armenian family has been
mourning for the pain of the Armenian Genocide for 95 years, and yet
has been collecting its strength and the will power. The Armenian
Genocide is a hereditary grief,' RA Education and Science Minister
Armen Ashotyan said today at the Tsitsernakaberd memorial, after
paying tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
`The Armenian Genocide is the grief of the past, which must hearten
and encourage us for the future,' Mr. Ashotyan said. `Building a
strong state system, a strong society, army and economy is the best
way to pay the crime back. One can pay tribute to the memory of more
than 1.5 million innocent victims only by building a strong and
powerful state. Each of us should be a successful and self-reliant
citizen. Thus, we can respond to the historical challenge. We are
against hatred; we do not forget the past, but yet advance towards the
future,' Armen Ashotyan added.
RA Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan says the Armenian Genocide is an issue
relating to humankind. `Human rights defense and strengthening the
national security are interconnected. First of all we should build a
legal society so that we could represent ourselves properly before the
international community,' Armen Harutyunyan said.
