There is already an international institution mediating over the
Nagorno-Karabakh settlement; and it is the OSCe Minsk Group. There
is no need for the Council of Europe to take up the issue as well,
Armenian National Assembly deputy, substitute member of the Armenian
delegation to the PACE Zaruhi Postanjyan told Panorama.am, commenting
on the information over the Subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh will be
resuming its works.
PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu announced that Subcommittee on
Nagorno-Karabakh will resume works shortly . Moreover, he stated today
that he will discuss the issue with the heads of the delegations of
the two countries and he will assume as the subcommittee chairman.
"The Council of Europe shouldn't get involved in the issue, especially
taking into consideration that an international institution should
not repeat the functions of the other. This issue is not within PACE
mandate," Zaruhi Postanjyan said.
As she said, the Armenian delegation will work hard to prevent the
process.
