Baku - APA. "First step to maintain stability in the Caucasus must
be withdrawal of Armenians from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
Without this first step, other remaining steps will not give any
results", said leader of Turkish Republican People's Party (CHP) Deniz
Baykal in his interview to journalists in Istanbul, APA reports citing
Aksham newspaper. Reminding that, there isn't any reflection on ending
the occupation of Karabakh in the protocols signed with Armenia, Baykal
said that signing of the protocols in such a way was a misguided step:
"The main mistake was a desire to solve the problems between Armenia
and Turkey, bypassing the Armenia - Azerbaijan conflict. But today
Turkish flags are burned and portraits of the Turkish President,
the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey thrown
under foot on the streets of Armenia. The process with an erroneous
foundation is at impasse now".
