ArmInfo. Preliminary trial on the case Transparency International
Anti-Corruption Center against Armenian Nature Protection Ministry
is scheduled for today, April 27 in Yerevan.
TI press-service told ArmInfo the TI Anti-Corruption Center demands the
Ministry to appeal to the prime minister of Armenia for permission
to inspect "Tekhnika Plus" Company located in Kochar Street-5,
Yerevan. The company is engaged in stamp production that result in
emission of toxic chemicals to atmosphere. In addition, this illegal
production, having no relevant resolution by the ecological expertise
is located on the ground floor of a residential building. The Nature
Protection Inspectorate takes no measures motivating this with the
government's decision banning inspection of facilities with annual
turnover below 70 million drams till Jan 1 2011. The same decision
says that to protect rights, life and health, the Inspectorate has
a right to carry out inspection on the basis of a written consent by
the prime minister.
