Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, during the "Real Politic"
program on Public TV, responded to the question whether the Turkish
statements were connected with Armenia's not having enough diplomatic
experience. He said, "People, who were afraid of the legends about the
Turkish centuries' diplomacy and ingeniousness now at last understood
that the king is naked."
"Sometimes, using the experience, we need to keep silence. Especially
when your interlocutor who tries to put you in a bad situation, says
something that turns his own statements against him. In these cases
it's better to keep silence and to allow your interlocutor to express
himself till the end. In Turkey too there are also some politicians
who understand. Recently the President of Turkey, Gul said that it is
better to lead silence diplomacy. I suppose it is directed to those
who like making statements," the foreign minister mentioned.
