YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Transport and Communication
Minister Manuk Vardanyan received today Indian Ambassador to Armenia
Achal Kumar Malhotra. Ambassador A. K. Malhotra noted that though
the political relations between the two countries are at quite a high
level, they do not reflect on the trade and investments. According to
A. K. Malhotra, India does not participate in implementation of any
investment program in Armenia. With ambassador's request M. Vardanyan
presented the spheres which are under the liability of the department,
particularly, the spheres of telecommunication, communication and
post, where it is possible to make investments. Press secretary of
the Armenian Transport and Communication Ministry Susanna Tonoyan told
Armenpress that with ambassador's request the minister presented the
construction process of "North-South" railway.
Ambassador A. K. Malhotra underscored that their main goal is to expand
the investment programs. The ambassador also said that the visit of
the representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industrials to
Armenia is intended, during which businessmen representing different
spheres will try to find cooperation verges.
Minister M. Vardanyan expressed gratitude to the ambassador for
involving the employees of the Transport and Communication Ministry
in the classes organized within the frameworks of the technical and
economic cooperation of India.
