According to the survey conducted during the NKR parliamentary
elections, 85 percent Karabakh residents are for Artsakh independence,
15 percent have doubts about it. Head of Sociometer center, sociologist
Aharon Adibekyan told a press conference.
According to the speaker, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict should be
resolved through direct negotiations between Karabakh and Azerbaijan
without Armenia's participation.
"Armenia should abandon the process and let the sides "divorce in
a civilized way;" when a married couple decides to divorce after
many years of common life, they decide how to divide the property,"
sociologist said adding that if a survey is conducted among NKR
population on the issue, 90 percent will agree to the variant he
mentioned.
Adibekyan thinks that it would not be dangerous until the Armenian
armed forces are in Karabakh.
