Armenian scouts say expect support of authorities
The 9th All-Armenian Scout Camp of the All-Armenian Sport and
Educational Homenetmen Foundation was held thank to private donations,
told media Friday chief of the National Scout Movement of Armenia,
member of the Homenetmen Foundation, Hrachia Shmavonian.
He said, that some support was provided by Ministry of Diaspora,
however, he said this was not enough to hold the event.
`It would be nice if the country's authorities supported our
initiative, and not only financially,' said Shmavonian.
Head of the Central Office of the Homenetmen Karpis Gapasagakian said
that Armenians of Diaspora do wish these camps to be held exactly in
Armenia, not in other countries where there are Armenian Communities.
`The homeland is set before, surely, to ensure relations with Diaspora
be kept forever; we always dreamed to hold camps here,' he said.
When asked by Aysor's correspondent whether there are any plans to
hold camps in Nagorno Karabakh, Hrachia Shmavonian said that there are
willingness to but there are not resources to organise it.
`In Nagorno Karabakh there are not still any conditions to hold
All-Armenian sport events of such kind and host such [great] number of
young adults,' he said adding that authorities of NKR have been
showing interest in activities of the Homenetmen and the National
Scout Movement of Armenia.
