    `Academic music specialities do not die away, they are just of less
    demand at present,' Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory Rector Sergey
    Sarajyan told a press conference when speaking about current demands
    in music market. He added that folk song, duduk are of high demand at
    present, while piano and violin were popular earlier, and it is
    natural. Demand for specialities changes constantly, and individuals
    having an unpopular profession are not able to find a good job.

    The Conservatory head regretted to say that piano player speciality is
    not as popular as before, only 18 persons have applied for
    Conservatory piano department this year.

    There is a high demand for specialities of duduk player, variety
    singer, folk singer, vocal singer, Sarajyan said.
