ARTUR TOVMASYAN: KOSOVO PRECEDENT MAY PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION OF NKR INDEPENDENCE

On July 28, RA NA vice speakers Arevik Petrosyan and Samvel Nikoyan
met with the deputy head of NKR National Assembly Artur Tovmasyan.
The meeting focused on RA-NKR interparliamentary cooperation,
parliamentary diplomacy development perspectives as well as ICJ ruling
on Kosovo independence.
As Artur Tovmasyan noted, Kosovo precedent may promote international
recognition of NKR independence. In this context, the deputy head
of NKR NA emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy,
stressing that international recognition of NKR independence will
not hamper the negotiation process.
The parties also focused on recent developments in Karabakh conflict
settlement and presentation of Karabakh's position in international
structures, RA NA press service reported.
