Studies Carried Out In The Territory Of St Gevorg Of Mughni Church, Tbilisi

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS: The National Agency for Cultural Heritage
Preservation of Georgia and the Armenian Culture Ministry have today
informed in written form that preliminary studies are carried out
in the territory of St Gevorg of Mughni Church, Tbilisi for drafting
its restoration plan.
An official from the Armenian Culture Ministry told Armenpress that
according to acting director of the agency Zurab Miminoshvili,
skilled architect Shalva Melikidze heads the drafting works. At
the moment the measurement of the monument is finished and study of
the engineering-geological conditions of the church's base is being
carried out.
For discussing the further works on restoration of the church, a
delegation headed by Armenian Deputy Culture Minister Arev Samuelyan
will pay a five day working visit to Tbilisi.
