ARMENIA TO TAKE PART IN NATURE PROTECTION SESSIONS TO BE HELD IN BONN

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS: The 13th session of the special working
team (AWG/KP) on the further commitments of the Appendix 1 parties
under the Kyoto protocol and the 11th session of the special working
team (AWG/LCA) of long-term cooperation under the Convention on
Climate Change will be held August 2-6 in German town of Bonn.
In these events Armenia will be presented by national coordinator of
the Convention on Climate Change, head of the Neighboring Surrounding
Protection Department of the Armenian Nature Protection Ministry
Aram Gabrielyan. The latter told Armenpress that during the sessions
the previous interrupted negotiations held this year from May 31 to
June 11 is intended to continue during the sessions. The negotiations
frosted at the 12th session of the AWG/KP working team are intended
to restart as well.
These negotiations will run in parallel to the work of the AWG/LCA
team and are directly dependant on the efficiency and progress of
the latter. "We are interested to have our contribution to smoothing
the climate change," A. Gabrielyan said noting that taking into
consideration the importance of the issue it is everybody's commitment.
