DEPUTY SPEAKER OF THE NKR NA: KOSOVO'S INDEPENDENCE RECOGNITION PRECEDENT MAY CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROCESS OF INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION OF THE NKR

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS: Vice parliament speakers Arevik Petrosyan
and Samvel Nikoyan received today deputy chairman of the NKR parliament
Arthur Tovmasyan. NKR NA representative in Armenian parliament Karen
Topchyan partook at the meeting.
The NA deputy speakers congratulated their counterpart on being
elected wishing him effective work and expecting active cooperation.
NA public relations department official told Armenpress that
the interlocutors referred to Armenia-Artsakh inter-parliamentary
cooperation, prospects of developing parliamentary diplomacy as well
as the ruling of the ICJ about Kosovo.
Deputy speaker of the NKR parliament expressed opinion that the
precedent of recognition of the Kosovo's independence may contribute
to the process of international recognition of the NKR. In this
pre-context the role of inter-parliamentary diplomacy has been pointed
out. He assured that the international recognition of the NKR will
not impede the process of negotiations.
The interlocutors also referred to the recent developments over the
NK conflict settlement.
