ARMENIAN MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND GTZ WILL COOPERATE IN REFORMATION OF BUDGET PROCESS

YEREVAN, July 28. /ARKA/. On Tuesday, First deputy Minister of Finance
Pavel Safaryan and Regional Director of German Union on Technical
Cooperation (GTZ) James Macbeth signed Memorandum of Understanding
for the continuation of cooperation on making reforms in program
budgeting till the end of 2011.
The main goal of the memorandum is assistance to Armenia in making
reforms and introduction of program budgeting experience in management
system of Armenia.
The aim of making reforms of program budgeting is increase of
efficiency of state expenses which is priority in Armenia.
Currently, these activities are implemented by technical assistance
of GTZ where state management bodies are involved.
The memorandum assumes that during the development of state budgets
of 2011 and 2012 all state bodies will have opportunity to submit
budget orders in completed format relevant to budgeting requirements.
Ministry of Finance and GTZ cooperate in the sphere of reforms of
program budgeting since 2002.
