"September is going to be 'hot' and full of events for Turkey, and
this is directly linked to Armenia," expert of Turkish studies Artak
Shakaryan told a press conference today. However, he does not predict
any breakthrough in the Armenian-Turkish relations.
"As Abdullah Gul once declared, 'it's time for silent diplomacy.' Most
probably, the silence will be kept until the parliamentary elections
in Turkey in July 2011. There will not be any real steps in the
Armenian-Turkish relations before that," he said.
"The worship ceremony at Surb Khach Church and other things just
serve as makeup to cover the eyes of European and American forces,
but no real progress is expected," Artak Shakaryan said.
