President of Trade and Industry Chamber of the Turkish province Agri
has made a harsh statement about a group of Armenians who recently
climbed Mountain Ararat, reports Turkish news agency Ankara.
Mehmet Erat said that the news about the climbing is baseless. "But
if it is true, the inhabitants of Agri express their concerns,"
Mr Erat was reported as saying.
"We would like to believe that those allegations are groundless. But if
the news reflect the reality, we know well how to remove the Armenian
flag and to raise the Turkish one on Mountain Ararat from Armenia's
side," said he.
"The Agri inhabitants would have buried those climbers, if they knew
that," he added.
Earlier 11 eleven Diasporan Armenian from South California, New Jersey,
Fresno and Canada climbed Mountain Ararat and erected Armenia's and
Karabakh's flags on the summit.
