MEDVEDEV'S VISIT TO ARMENIA MIGHT HAVE BEEN DELAYED: VARDAN KHACHATRYAN

A conference planned to take place after the Collective Security Treaty
Organization summit to be attended also by the Russian President
Dmitry Medvedev in the framework of his upcoming visit to Armenia,
has been delayed, MP Vardan Khachatryan told a press conference today.
Mr Medvedev was also expected to deliver a speech at that summit.
Mr Khachatryan said he was told from the National Assembly that the
conference is delayed till September. That means, according to Mr
Khachatryan, that Mr Medvedev's visit to Armenia is also being delayed.
But at the same time he mentioned the information he had was not
finally checked out.
Earlier Russian press reported that Mr Medvedev would visit Armenia
on August 19.
It was expected that Russia's President would sign an agreement that
would prolong the presence of the Russian military bases in Armenia
for 49 more years.
