YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: The exhibition of pictures of Sergey
Sarumyan, Moscow-based Artsakhi painter, opened today at 'Hay Art'
cultural center of Yerevan Municipality. 'Each Armenian looks at his
state,' RA Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan said at the opening
ceremony. She congratulated the painter for the exhibition and said
she liked the brightness and color solutions of the pictures. Sergey
Sarumyan's canvases transmitted a great impetus to the exhibition,
according to Rita Sharoyan, director of the cultural center. She
mentioned that this is the painter's first private exhibition in
Armenia and it is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the artist.
'I do not consider myself a Diaspora-Armenian; I am connected with
Armenia and Karabakh. For me this is the most important exhibition, as
it is organized 'at home',' Sergey Sarumyan said. He added that this
is his third exhibition. 'Sergey Sarumyan preserves the traditions
of the national paining. Being abroad, our painters lose the colors
of Armenia.
He has not lost the Armenian colors,' said Vanik Santrosyan, honored
journalist, member of RA Journalists, Writers and Painters Unions. He
mentioned that the artist emphasized his citizenship in his pictures.
Sergey Sarumyan's exhibition will close August 23. The painter was
awarded the diploma of honor of RA Diaspora Ministry.
