YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: Classes about Turkey will be conducted
for Armenian journalists from August 25 to September 10 within
the frameworks of the program of "Further steps on Regulation of
Armenian-Turkish Relation" of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation. Head
of the Armenian-Turkish programs' department Artak Shakaryan told
Armenpress that the classes aim to present to Armenian journalists
details on the inner and foreign policy of Turkey, on its history and
culture for proper and distinct uncovering of the regulation process
of Armenian-Turkish relations.
"Journalists have very scrappy information about Turkey, as well as
about the issue existing between the latter and Armenia. Through the
classes we will try to fill that flaw," A. Shakaryan said. According
to him, the three week classes will be conducted both by Armenian
specialist of the sphere, and by a sociologist and political analyst
invited from Turkey.
The places for participation in the classes are limited; 10
journalists, who have considerable job experience in information
field and have repeatedly referred to Turkey and to issues on
Armenian-Turkish relations, will have an opportunity of participation.
The knowledge of English is also desirable.
The deadline of submission of applications can be submitted till
August 22. A. Shakaryan noted that they intend to organize suchlike
classes for Turkish specialists as well, which will be conducted by
Armenian specialists.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
supports the implementation of the program.
