YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: The army is the most responsible part
of the society and must be open, leader of the "National Determination
Unity" party Paruyr Hayrikyan said referring to the recent tragic
events taken place in the army. He said it was good that no attempt
was made to hide what really happened and a thorough investigation
must be done. "We must be very attentive toward the issues relating
to the army. The punishment must also be regulated in the army,"
Hayrikyan said.
Head of the Freedom Fight Veterans Union Hamlet Hovsepyan said the
atmosphere of impunity in the army may bring to hard consequences. "It
is necessary to pick up lessons from what happened to prevent them
in future," he said.
