YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: A group of 31 Diaspora-Armenian young
people, who are on a visit to Armenia within the frames of AGBU's
educational project, visited today the RA Diaspora Ministry. The group
was headed by Hermine Tyuzyan, AGBU's project coordinator in Armenia,
responsible for AGBU's European youth projects. The young people are
the representatives of the Armenian communities to the US, Canada,
France, England, Greece, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.
It is the seventh year the project grants a number of Diaspora-Armenian
young people an opportunity to visit the historical-cultural sights of
Armenia and make an investment in the improvement of their fatherland
via being involved in voluntary service. A visit to the Nagorno
Karabakh Republic is intended this year. An official from the press
and PR office of RA Diaspora Ministry told Armenpress that RA Diaspora
Minister Hranush Hakobyan greeted the young people and stated that
the works with the Diaspora-Armenian youth is one of the priorities
of the activities of the Ministry.
'You should maintain your ties with the homeland in order to be
stronger and more powerful. Today you have the opportunity to see
with your own eyes what you have been learning about for years. I am
sure you will become the ambassadors of Armenia to your states by
representing your homeland and being a live bridge between Armenia
and the Diaspora,' the Minister added.
Hranush Hakobyan called on the young people to attach a great
importance to the education, become good specialists, good citizens,
good-natured people and good Armenians. She advised them to preserve
the Armenian language, culture and traditions. The Diaspora Ministry
answered the questions of the young people and presented them several
books, published by the Ministry.
