YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: The official ceremony of granting the
61 tractors, agricultural tools and spare parts, imported to Armenia
within the frames of the 10th 170-million-ien grant by the Japanese
Government, was held today at the central agro-technical base of
'Nurnus' CJSC.
RA vice Prime Minister, Territorial Administration Minister Armen
Gevorgyan, Minister of Japanese Embassy to Armenia Manabu Miagava,
First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy Jiro Iida, as well a number
of representatives from RA Agriculture Ministry, 'Nurnus' Base,
International Development Agency of Japan were present at the ceremony.
The administration of the imported equipments will be regulated
with the corresponding decision of RA Government. The Government is
currently discussing RA Agriculture Ministry's concept on effective
usage and investment of the imported equipments in the agriculture.
The vice Prime Minister mentioned that the usage of the equipments
in regional stations, provision to agricultural farms, as well as
a whole new variant are possible. He underscored the necessity of
making a simple and transparent decision.
Mr. Manabu Miagava appreciated the efforts of the Armenian side and
stated that the Armenian-Japanese relations have been developing
since 1991 and still go on being strengthened. 'We are always happy
to support the Government of Armenia. I hope such events will be
continuous,' he added.
The tractors are of 'Belarus' mark. Paruyr Baghdasaryan, chairman
of the economy council of 'Nurnus' CJSC, mentioned that importing
spare parts from Belarus is cheaper and advantageous. 'Despite those
tractors are familiar to Armenian villagers. The new tractors are
the improved version of the old famous mechanism,' he said.
