A joint concert by legendary Armenian duduk player Djivan Gasparyan
and prominent Turkish singer Yavuz Bingol scheduled on September
in Istanbul has been canceled by Turkish Government, Mr Gasparyan
told Tert.am.
Earlier in a press conference the duduk master said he had been
invited to take part in a concert to be held on 1 September - the
International Day of Peace.
"I have not been provided with any explanations, I have no idea about
the reasons the concert was cancelled," Mr Gasparyan explained.
Djivan Gasparyan and Yavuz Bingol have previously held joint concerts.
"Bingol himself is taken aback that the concert will not take place,"
said Mr Gasparyan, adding that he would not like the relations between
Armenia and Turkey get tense.
Asked whether or not he would agree to such invitations Mr Gasparyan
said: "Let them first invite, we will think about it later."
