The Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) announced the opening of
its Eastern Region Office in New York City, which will be staffed by
the Assembly's Bianka Kadian-Dodov.
Dodov will be responsible for increasing the Assembly's grassroots
outreach and activities in New York and the tri-state area, as well as
focus on development and membership initiatives in the region. Working
with Assembly headquarters in Washington, DC, Dodov will also assist
the government affairs agenda with a specific focus on the New York
delegation.
"With her work on both the 2007 and 2010 Armenian Genocide
resolutions, Bianka's first-hand experience in government relations,
as well as her active community involvement, will prove invaluable as
she takes on new responsibilities," said Executive Director Bryan
Ardouny.
In addition to her new role in New York, Dodov, who spearheaded the
Assembly's Congressional relations program in DC, will also serve as
the Assembly's United Nations (UN) representative to the UN Committee
on Human Settlements. In 1999, the Armenian Assembly was granted
Special Consultative Status as an NGO (non-governmental organization)
with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
"The Armenian Assembly is the premier organization dedicated not only
to the education and affirmation of the Armenian Genocide, but to a
strong, vibrant, and democratic Armenia," said Dodov. "I am thrilled
to have the opportunity to expand the Assembly's leadership role
within the community, the U.S. Government, and the United Nations."
