YEREVAN
YEREVAN, December 6, /ARKA/. Shipment of Russian natural gas to
Armenia via Georgia was restored fully at 12 pm today. Currently
Armenia receives 5.5-6 million cubic meters a day, ArmRosGazprom,
a joint Russian-Armenian natural gas operator said.
It said full supply was restored after the completion of repair of a
damaged section of the main pipeline in Georgia that was discovered
on November 24. As a result delivery of gas to Armenia was reduced
to 4 million cubic meters a day.
ARG is the only company dealing with import and distribution of
Russian natural gas coming to Armenia from Russia via Georgia. It was
established in 1997. Russian Gazprom holds the majority stake in it,
the rest is owned by Armenian government.
