VAZGEN SAFARYAN: INDUSTRY SHOULD BECOME PRIORITY SECTOR OF ARMENIAN ECONOMY

In 2010, the share of industry in Armenia's GDP comprised 23,5%,
the head of the Armenian Union of Local Manufacturers Vazgen Safaryan
stated.
"In January-November 2010, AMD 734 billion worth of goods were
manufactured, food products grossing 50% of the figure," the head of
the Union told a news conference in Yerevan.
As he noted, 6,6% growth of GDP was observed based on 2010 results;
4,6% increase is expected next year.
In conclusion, Safaryan emphasized the importance of including the
industry in priority sectors of Armenian economy.
