Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestling national team officially refused
to participate in the World Cup 2010 in Yerevan, February 12-14.
Azerbaijan's Wrestling Federation has already informed FILA about
its decision.
Earlier, the Vice-President of Azerbaijani Wrestling Federation
Namik Aliyev said that Azeri sportsmen should get ready for European
Championship in Baku on April. "As for the refusal of the invitation,
we want our sportsmen to be well prepared for European Championship
in Baku," Aliyev stated in his interview with Azerisport.
Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup 2010 will be held in Yerevan, on
February 12-14. Teams from Georgia, Turkey, Russia, Hungary, Iran
and Cuba will participate as well.
