/PanARMENIAN.Net/ We welcome the recent statement of RPA parliamentary
group secretary Eduard Sharmazanov on Turkey's stance towards
rapprochement issue. It would be good if Armenian authorities were
as quick in responding Turkey's statements and expressing their
positions, ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group member Artyusha
Shahbazyan stated.
As he pointed out, Turkey's statements on ministerial and presidential
levels should be responded by similar statements on Armenian behalf.
"RA Authorities have to express their firm position and present the
issue," Shakhbazyan said.
"Protocols' ratification in their current form will spell our defeat.
In case protocols are put to vote in RA parliament, ARFD will vote for
ratification only in case corresponding reservations are introduced,"
he stressed.
"The RA Constitutional Court's ruling doesn't conflict with the spirit
of Protocols on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations," Eduard
Sharmazanov, secretary of the RPA parliamentary group told reporters
on Monday.
"The side, which artificially drags out the ratification, will bear the
responsibility for frustrating the rapprochement process. That's what
Turkey is doing now. Moreover, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan
makes statements not fitting a mature politician," he stressed.
