ArmInfo. Normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations has no
alternative, since closed borders in the XXI century - this is a
nonsense, Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sarkisyan said in Yerevan
on February 12.
In view of this, the prime minister emphasized the importance of
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's message to the Turkish president
and his speech in London. T. Sarkisyan thinks this is a sharp evidence
of the fact that the Armenian authorities have a political will
and decisiveness to move further towards normalization of relations
with Turkey. The prime minister also emphasized that the process of
normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations is of bilateral nature,
it cannot be conditioned by relations with some hird party and is
running without preconditions. In view of this, T. Sarkisyan recalled
the relevant decision of the Constitutional Court of Armenia and the
president's statement about the readiness to submit the bilateral
Protocols to the Armenian Parliament. "By this, we have shown that
if Turkey is ready to ratify them, we shall have no problems with
that, taking into account the stance of the parliamentary majority",
T. Sarkisyan resumed.
