    Wednes day, 10 February 2010

Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the National Youth Policy
Council by the Prime Minister held its first sitting of 2010 in the
    Office of Government.

Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Arsen Karamyan took the
floor to report on the achievements and shortfalls recorded in the
period under review. He advised that the presentation of a new
transparency-based system for live online selection of grant
applications from non-governmental organizations will be held this
mid-March. In this connection, the head of government noticed: `Dear
colleagues, we will have to develop and approve programs based on this
strategy of national youth policy. Then we will have to announce a
tender to pick up the best implementing entities. This means that the
short-listed programs will be approved by general agreement of
opinion. Anyone will be given the possibility of keeping track of
progress online. You will be able to identify the least of
    irregularities, if any.

The Prime Minister said that once engaged, youth organizations will
feel themselves integrated in this process with the firm belief that
they can have a say during the decision-making stage.

The meeting further discussed and approved the composition of the
working group entrusted with the design of council rules of procedure
and the 2010 program of action.
