/PanARMENIAN.Net/ On February 18 Yerevan will host a seminar
"Preserving Armenianess and Protecting the Rights of Armenians
of Samtskhe-Javakheti-Tsalka" organized by the Coordinating
Council for Protection of Javakheti Armenians' rights (Javakheti
compatriotic-charitable NGO, Mitq Analytical Center, Javakhk people's
movement and Yerkir Union and other organizations).
"From the first days of Georgia's independence, the Georgian
authorities have carried out a discriminatory policy against the
Armenian minority of the country. The elements of this policy are
denial of political, linguistic, religious, educational and cultural
rights, the neutralization of the figures involved in the protection
of rights of Javakheti Armenians, measures aimed at assimilation
of the Armenian population. These processes have intensified since
2005, 2006, and especially after the five-day war in August 2010,
" the statement of the Council says.
