    Feb 18, 2010

YEREVAN, February 18. /ARKA/. Preliminary investigation of criminal
case against Tigran Grigoryan, head of department and Arsen Petrosyan,
deputy head of department of state nature protection inspection of
    Armenia is finished.

It appeared that in 2009 Arsen Petrosyan inspected basalt and
gypsiferous clay subsoil operated by "Delta-Fragment" Ltd. in Yerevan
by the assignment of the Minister of Nature Protection.

For not including the detected violations in the protocol and reduction
of penalty size, Petrosyan required 400 thousand drams from Vardan
Aslanyan, director of "Delta-Fragment" Ltd. and received the bribe
    on December 16, 2009.

In the process of investigation it was disclosed that Petrosyan agreed
with Tigran Grigoryan beforehand and received bribe in the amount
of 5 million drams (about 13.2 thousand US dollars) on December 28,
2009 from assistant of Board of Directors of "Akhtala ore-dressing
    and processing enterprise".

Inspectors required the mentioned amount for prolongation of the
dates of handing-over and operation of water-supply system located
    in the gorge Ayrum-Chochkan-Lori region.

On the basis of the evidence T.Grigoryan was accused by Clause 2,
Part 4 of Article 311 of Armenian Criminal Code (Accepting bribes in
very large amounts) and A.Petrosyan - by Clause 2, Part 4 and Clause
3, Article 311 of Armenian Criminal Code (Accepting bribes in very
    large amounts).

The case was sent to the competence of general court of administrative
    districts of Kentron and Nork-Marash.
