The European Union Advisory Group to the Republic of Armenia held
its Third Advisory Board Meeting on 22 February 2010 under the joint
Chairmanship of Mr. Artur Baghdasaryan, Secretary of the National
Security Council, and Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger, Head of the
    EU Delegation.

The Group presented its report for the last quarter of 2009, as well
as its work plan for the first half of 2010, which was approved by
the Board. During the meeting, participants discussed the Advisory
Group's current work and its planned activities. The EU Advisory Group
expressed appreciation for the guidance received from the Armenian
representatives and assured it would continue to support the Armenian
Government's reform efforts. The EU Advisory Group has been assisting
Armenian Institutions in the fields of good governance and sustainable
    economic development since early 2009.

High level officials from the Presidency, Government, National Assembly
and other institutions participated in the Board Meeting from the
Armenian side. The EU Advisory Group was represented by its Team
Leader Rolf Boehnke and individual Advisors to different Armenian
Institutions. The Meeting was also attended by representatives
of EU Member States' Embassies, UNDP, the World Bank and further
    International Organisations.

The Board welcomed the new Advisors that recently had joined the
Group, namely the Advisors to the National Assembly, to the Prime
Minister's Office on Communication, on Technical Barriers to Trade,
Sanitary and Phyto-Sanitary Regulations, Intellectual Property Rights,
the Awareness Campaign for the Pension Reform, and the Special Advisor
    to the Team Leader.

Preparations for selecting university graduates for traineeships
with the EU Advisory Group are also under way, informed Ambassador
Raul de Luzenberger. Future trainees will have an opportunity to gain
first-hand experience in EU policies and best practices.
