A moment ago RA Constitutional Court ruled Armenia-Turkey Protocols
constitutional. According to CC, the judgment is final and may not be
appealed. The chants "Traitors", "You are not Armenians" were heard
from the court room.
Today, January 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. RA Constitutional Court initiated
the discussion of Armenia-Turkey Protocols' validity. In the meantime,
ARF Dashnaktsutyun and over 10 parties held a protest action against
the Protocols near CC building where made symbolic burning of Protocols
and Madrid Principles.
RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan and Turkish Foreign Minister
Ahmet Davutoglu signed Armenia-Turkey Protocols October 10, 2009
in Zurich. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Russian Foreign
Minister Sergei Lavrov, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner as
well as other high ranking officials attended in the ceremony. The
Protocols should to be ratified by Armenian and Turkish Parliaments.
