SDHK CHAIRWOMAN ACCUSES SHIRKHANYAN OF PERFIDY

Chairwoman of Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHK) Lyudmila Sargsyan
says the SDHK congress put an end to variances inside the party.

"As for Vahan Shirkhanyan's team I must say we are not interested
in the statements of outsiders. The team involves Vahan Shirkhanyan,
Vardan Khachatryan and some 10 youths. I doubt that they will be able
to set a party," Lyudmila Sargsyan told A1+.

The SDHK chairwoman says Shirkhanyan joined their party after the
    events of March 1, 2008.

"On March 2, 2008, he came up to me with a desire to fill our ranks.

The suggestion was a real shock for me and my friends standing at
the Statue of Miasnikyan on March 1. Many oppositionists avoided
announcing themselves as radical opposition then. We closed our eyes
to Shirkhanyan's background and admitted him to our ranks."

Lyudmila Sargsyan says she has been scolded many times for her
    decision.

"But I was an optimist and thought highly of Shirkhanyan. Now I know
that he is the authorities' stooge and executes their orders.

Shirkhanyan used to tell me that the Armenian National Congress had
no future, was incapable of taking reasonable decisions and couldn't
come to power. I think that the variances inside the SDHK were incited
    by Shrkhanyan.

Today the Party has 4500 members. I was elected SDHK chairwoman during
the party's 7th congress in 2004. I have never been a technical worker
as Shirkhanyan says. I am surprised at his outrageous lies. I file
political accusations against Shirkhanyan and accuse him of perfidy.

He had no right to defame me.

I really regret for the young people led astray by Shirkhanyan. I
repeat that I am ready to their return if they want to. But so far
none of them has contacted us. I think it is a matter of time,"
    said the SDHK chairwoman.

In reply to Lyudmila Sargsyan's accusations, Vahan Shirkhanyan said
later today: "If Lyuda considers army building a fault and says I
must redeem it, she is right. But I think she had better think of
    her faults."
