Congresswoman Judy Chu pledges to join the Armenia Caucus

Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) Western Region Director,
Yeghig Keshishian, along with Southern California Regional Council
(SCRC) members Margaret Mgrublian and Jim Melikian met with
Congresswoman Judy Chu. Congratulating Congresswoman Chu on her 2009
special election, Keshishian and the SCRC members outlined the major
issues of importance to the Armenian-American community as well as the
Assembly's activities in California.
During the meeting, the Congresswoman pledged to join the Armenia
Caucus and assist the nascent Republic in strengthening its political,
economic and military ties with the U.S.
"On behalf of the Assembly, we welcome Congresswoman Chu's decision to
join the Armenia Caucus," stated Keshishian. "We look forward to
working closely with her office to help shape U.S. foreign policy
decisions relating to the South Caucasus and Armenia. We are confident
that her long history in working with the Armenian community in the
San Gabriel Valley during her tenure as an Assemblywoman will prove to
a great resource for the Caucus."
