against Gandzasar F.C., winning a 2:0 victory. Goals were scored by
Ara Lazarian (forward) and Arman Markaryan.
The next Shirak-Gandzasar friendly match is scheduled for January 27.

town of Gyumri (formerly Leninakan). The home stadium for Shirak is

Shirak was founded in 1958. During the 70's, the club played under
the name Olympia.
The club is one of the oldest in Armenia and has produced many talented
players who have gone on to represent the country. Artur Petrosyan and
Harutyun Vardanyan are two famous players produced by this club. Both
of them had gained enviable reputations as talented players and went
on to play for the Armenian national football team.
The club has won 3 championships and 3 super-cups.

of Kapan. Founded in 2004, the club plays in the Armenian Premier
League, the top division in Armenian football. The home ground of
Gandzasar is the Lernagorts Stadium.
Gandzasar spent two years playing in the Armenian First Division
before finally getting promoted to the Armenian Premier League for
the 2006 season. The club also has a reserve team named Gandzasar-2,
which now plays in the First Division.
