Gordon's statement addressed to Turkey: Avagyan
15:25 / 01/23/2010U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon's
statement proves that U.S backs RA CC judgment as fully understands
that the Protocols' ratification process can be protracted only by
Turkish side, not Armenian, RPA (Republican Party of Armenia) member
Karen Avagyan told NEWS.am.
According to him, such statements are made to signal Turkey that
setting forth preconditions impedes Armenia-Turkey normalization. `In
any case Gordon's statement refers solely to Turkish side and bears no
relation to Armenia, as so far the latter it did not diverge from the
right track,' he stated.
As NEWS.am reported previously, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State
Philip Gordon stated that U.S. welcomes controversial ruling of RA CC
judgment on the Protocols on January 12, that effectively dismisses
Turkey's claims that conflicts Turkey-Armenia agreements on relations'
normalization.
