ARMENIA NEVER BEEN IN MORE FAVOURABLE POSITION IN KARABAKH ISSUE THAN NOW: SHARMAZANOV

According to Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) press spokesperson and
National Assembly deputy Edward Sharmazanov, today's meeting between
the presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia must move forward
based on the Madrid Principles and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs'
statement.
As it is already known, the Madrid Document is the only document put
forth thus far in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The
OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, in their statement in Athens, noted
that self-determination of nations, territorial integrity, and the
settlement of the conflict through peaceful means are the three tenets
of the document.
As for the ongoing threats from Baku, Sharmazanov considered them to
be ridiculous. As reported earlier today, Ramiz Mehdiyev, head of
Azerbaijan's presidential staff, had said that should the conflict
not be resolved peacefully, they will look for "other ways" to settle
the conflict.
The HHK press spokesperson also said that "In the issue of Karabakh,
Armenia has never been in a more favourable position."
