USE OF ITALY'S EXPERIENCE TO HELP DEVELOP ARMENIAN ECONOMY, GURGEN SARGSYAN SAYS

YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, NOYAN TAPAN. RA Minister of Transport and
Communication Gurgen Sargsyan received Italian Deputy Minister
of Economic Development Paolo Romani on January 26. The minister
expressed a hope that the use of Italy's successful experience in
various spheres will help develop the Armenian economy.
According to spokeswoman for the RA Ministry of Transport and
Communication Susanna Tonoyan, during the meeting, in which RA Minister
of Economy Nerses Yeritsian also took part, the sides discussed a
number of issues of bilateral interest, particularly issues related
to radio and television broadcasting digitalization, Internet access,
the railway, and road construction.
P. Romani underlined the existence of all the necessary conditions
for providing support for Armenia. Noting that Italy is famous for
its large road construction companies, he expressed a hope that they
will participate in the international tender for construction of the
North-South Highway. P. Romani did not rule out the involvement of
Italian companies in railway construction.
