"We launched the Armenia-Turkey normalization process without
preconditions and we have carried out all our commitments, however,
we saw Turkey put forward preconditions, we were against them,
therefore our President suspended the Protocols," NA RPA Faction
member Mkrtich Minasyan told a press conference when speaking about
Armenia-Turkey normalization.
According to Minasyan, currently Turkey imitates normalization to
prove to the world that it also continues carrying out its commitments
without preconditions, however, Turkey's imitation fails.
RPA representative is convinced that Turkey will admit historical truth
soon in order to save its reputation. "Formerly, even pronouncing the
word "genocide" was banned in Turkey, while currently, that issue is
even discussed, and it is good as it is. Turkey will admit the truth
with the lapse of time, since there are still people of sound mind
in Turkey."
Nevertheless, Mr. Minasyan supposes that if Turkey keeps acting the
same way, "we will have to withdraw our signature."
