TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY IS JUST ONE PRINCIPLE TO ACHIEVE SELF-DETERMINATION: KOCHARYAN

"The Hague court has reached a ruling that is in line with the
UN Charter. Nations self-determination is one of UN's aims, while
territorial integrity is just one principle meant to achieve that. If
there is nation's self-determination, the territorial integrity
is secondary to it. And the Hague ruling is about this," Armenia's
Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said during Haylur news
program on Thursday as he referred to a ruling by International Court
of Justice reached on July 22 which says the secession of Kosovo from
Serbia did not take place in violation of international law.
Further Kocharyan cited the president of the Hague court who said that
"international law does not have a ban on declaration of independence."
According to Kocharyan, this proves that what Azerbaijan says runs
counter to international law. Besides, the court in fact showed that
two Albanian states can exist at the same time - Albania and Kosovo,
meaning that there can much in the same way be two Armenian states
-Republic of Armenia and Artsakh Republic.
