Forecast: International powers to recognize independence of Artsakh,
the Hague to approve it
The decision of the international court was a serious blow to
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's statement that the Armenians
cannot have two independent states. Yes, the current situation shows
that the Albanians, the Turkish as well as the Armenians have two
independent states, the Chairman of the Forum of Armenian
Organizations in Europe (FAAE) Ashot Grigoryan said.
According to him, not far is the day when the international powers
will recognize the independence of Artsakh and it will be approved by
the Hague international court. `The whole Armenian nation worldwide
and pan-Armenian lobby organizations should be committed to the
issue,' Grigoryan added.
The UN court decision on Kosovo independence declaration is a guide
for all the states, having proclaimed independence in the same
conditions as Kosovo did, he highlighted.
`In terms of this, specific is Artsakh independence as it started as a
result of the USSR collapse and a region got independent which has
never been part of Azerbaijan,' Grigoryan said.
